Good Morning everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve written a newsletter but I had the urge to write this morning so here I am.
In the past hour word came that the Packers have decided to re-sign special teams specialist Dallin Leavitt.

Before last year the Packers special teams was a catastrophe. It was a big part in costing us a playoff loss vs the 49ers. Brian Gutekunst said you know what maybe we should actually invest more time and energy in our special teams unit. Smart idea if you ask me. The Packers brought in Rich Bisaccia from the Raiders and started signing a bunch of players who could contribute on special teams. The increased focus on teams led to a much better unit in 2022 and Brian Guekunst is sticking with many of the same special teams pieces for 2023.
Dallin Leavit was brought into Green Bay last summer. He had previously been with Bisaccia in Las Vegas and knew the way he liked to do things. He came in and immediately became one of the most used players on special teams. 2nd in special teams snaps with 305. The dude flies around like his hairs on fire and plays with an intensity that was lacking on special teams in years past.
The Packers have now re-signed many of the guys who were a big part of a much better teams unit in 2022: Keisean Nixon, Rudy Ford, and Tyler Davis to name a few.
Leavitt is also super cheap. He only played 1 defensive snap last year per PFF. He’s solely a special teamer.

Let’s hope the special teams unit continues heading in the right direction. It looks like Brian Gutekunst is doing all he can to keep many of the core special teamers around in 2023.
