If the Packers Trade up For WR who should they take?
Happy Friday everybody. This morning as I was drinking some coffee I decided I would answer a question someone asked me on my youtube channel a few days ago. I make multiple videos every day so I thought why not switch it up and write my thoughts instead.
Here is the question that was asked:
Thanks for your question Andrew.
With the packers picking first at 22 it’s likely that lots of receivers will be off the board by the time they pick. There have been mocks where 5 receivers have gone before the packers pick.
Usually they go off the board like this: Garrett Wilson, Drake London, Jameson Williams, Chris Olave, Treylon Burks. Or something like that. I like Treylon Burks more than Drake London so I wouldn’t trade up for London.
Considering Garrett Wilson could go in the top 10 I’d rather the packers not move up that far. So if the packers traded up I wouldn’t mind if it was for Jameson Williams or Chris Olave. If I had to pick one of those two I’d pick Jameson. He’s got lightning speed that will destroy defenses.
I also love Treylon Burks and it looks like he should be available when the packers pick at 22 so they most likely wouldn’t need to trade up. The more I think about it the more I think they should just stay put at 22.
Even if those guys mentioned above are taken George Pickens or Christian Watson would likely be available and I think both could be great players in the NFL. Maybe I’m crazy but I honestly think the packers drafting Christian Watson would make me more excited than any other receiver. The sky is the limit for Christian Watson.
Of course Brian Gutekunst probably knows better than me so if he decides to move up and draft a receiver I will be happy because he knows what he is doing much more than I do. The packers may even decide not to use their first pick on a wideout. If they decide to go with a defensive player instead I will not be opposed. This defense is already going to be dominant as is so adding a first round defensive player will take even more pressure off of the offense.
Hope you guys enjoyed this and if you did feel free to let me know.
Go pack go baby!
